# How to fix Strava / Garmin issues

# How to make Qpaws work with Strava and Garmin


# **1 How do I connect Strava or Garmin?**

In Qpaws, go to:
Menu → Connections → Strava / Garmin

→ Then you will be taken to Strava / Garmin login to complete the connection. 
Make sure to follow all the steps.



# **2 How does syncing actually work?**

In short:

* One-way: Strava/Garmin ➝ Qpaws
Not the other way around (We are working on it, so that you later also will be able to also sync FROM Qpaws TO Strava and other services)

* Only new activities
Activities recorded *before connecting* won’t be imported (also this will be improved in future updates. 
We know this isn’t ideal — and we’re working on improving it in future versions.



# **3 Troubleshooting**

### Problem: Everything is connected – but nothing syncs

###### Try this:

**__Strava__**
* Log in to your Strava account in a web browser.
* In Strava, go to the left column: My App → find Qpaws app and click "Revoke Access"
* Then, go to Qpaws app > Menu → Connection → Strava, and ensure all consents are given during the reconnection process.

**__Garmin__**
* Reconnect the integration and ensure all permissions (especially for activity access) are granted. Also, check for the latest app update.
* **In the Garmin Connect app:**
* 1. Go to **More → Settings → Connected Apps**
* 2. Find **Qpaws** and disconnect it

* **Then back to Qpaws:**
* 1. Open the app and go to **Menu → Connections**
* 2. Reconnect Garmin
* 3. Make sure you complete the full Garmin Connect authorization flow

👉 This fully resets the connection — and often fixes the issue.



**The numbers don’t match (distance, time, etc.)**

👉 Why:

📊 Small differences in how Strava/Garmin calculate data
(GPS, pauses, smoothing)

👉 What to do:

(preferably with screenshots from both Strava and Qpaws of the same activity)



❓\*\* Photos are missing\*\*

📷 Strava/Garmin currently share activity data, but don’t share photos via the integration

💡 This is something we’re looking to support in future versions.



❓\*\* Older activities are missing\*\*

👉 Expected:

🆕 Only activities recorded *after you connected* will sync into Qpaws

👉 Status:

💡 This is something we’re looking to improve going forward.




❓\*\* What fixes most issues?\*\*

👉 🔄 Disconnect → reconnect (from both ends, in Qpaws and in Strava / Garmin)
