1 How do I connect Garmin?

• In Qpaws, go to: Menu > Integrations > Garmin

Then you will be taken to Garmin login to complete the connection. 

Make sure to complete all the steps.

• After this, your Garmin activities will show on top of your activity feed in Qpaws. Tap "Import" to confirm (or "Don't import" if you don't want it to show in Qpaws).

Remember: your Garmin workout does not include information about dog(s), but you can edit data directly in the Qpaws app, after import.

Just open the activity in your activity feed, then press Edit and fill in the missing information.

2 Troubleshooting

Problem A

Everything is connected – but nothing syncs

Reconnect the integration and ensure all permissions (especially for activity access) are granted. Also, check for the latest app update.

Here's how you do it:

• In the Garmin Connect app:
• 1. Go to More → Settings → Connected Apps
• 2. Find Qpaws and disconnect it

• Then back to Qpaws:
• 1. Open the app and go to Menu → Integrations
• 2. Reconnect Garmin
• 3. Make sure you complete the full Garmin Connect authorization flow

👉 This fully resets the connection – and often fixes the issue.

Problem B

The numbers don’t match (distance, time, etc.)

Why:

Small differences in how Garmin and Qpaws calculate data

(GPS, pauses, smoothing)

What to do:

(preferably with screenshots from both Garmin Connect and Qpaws of the same activity)

Problem C

📷Photos from your Garmin activity are missing

Garmin currently share activity data, but don’t share photos via the integration

This is something we’re looking to support in future versions.

Problem D

Older activities are missing

👉 Expected: Only activities recorded after you connected will sync into Qpaws

Status: This is something we’re looking to improve going forward.

3 How does syncing actually work?

1. In short, one-way: Activities FROM Garmin TO Qpaws. Not the other way around (We are working on it, so that you later also will be able to also sync FROM Qpaws TO Garmin and other services)
2. Only new activities. Activities recorded before connecting won’t be imported (also this will be improved in future updates. 

4 What fixes most issues?

👉 Disconnect and Reconnect (from both ends, in Qpaws and in Garmin) as described above.
