How to fix Strava / Garmin issues
How to make Qpaws work with Strava and Garmin
Here is a quick guide on how to set it up and fix common issues
❓ How do I connect Strava or Garmin?
📱 In Qpaws, go to:
Menu → Integrations → Strava / Garmin
→ Then you will be taken to Strava / Garmin login to complete the connection.
Make sure to follow all the steps.
💡 This is where you can also disconnect and reconnect if needed.
❓ How does syncing actually work?
👉 In short:
🔁 One-way (for now)
→ Strava/Garmin ➝ Qpaws
→ Not the other way around
🆕 Only new activities
→ Activities recorded before connecting won’t be imported
💡 We know this isn’t ideal — and we’re working on improving it in future versions.
❓ Everything is connected — but nothing syncs
⚠️ The connection may look correct, but often isn’t fully “clean”.
👉 Try this:
- 🔌 Disconnect in Qpaws
Go to Menu → Integrations and disconnect
- 🔐 Disconnect in Strava / Garmin
Strava
Settings → Applications / Connected Apps
→ Find Qpaws → Remove access
Garmin Connect
More → Settings → Connected Apps
→ Find Qpaws → Disconnect / Remove
- 🔄 Reconnect in Qpaws
👉 This fully resets the connection — and very often fixes the issue.
❓ The numbers don’t match (distance, time, etc.)
👉 Why:
📊 Small differences in how Strava/Garmin calculate data
(GPS, pauses, smoothing)
👉 What to do:
📩 If the differences are significant → send us a message at team@qpaws.com
(preferably with screenshots from both Strava and Qpaws of the same activity)
❓ Photos are missing
📷 Strava/Garmin currently share activity data, but don’t share photos via the integration
💡 This is something we’re looking to support in future versions.
❓ Older activities are missing
👉 Expected:
🆕 Only activities recorded after you connected will sync into Qpaws
👉 Status:
💡 This is something we’re looking to improve going forward.
❓ What fixes most issues?
👉 🔄 Disconnect → reconnect (from both ends, in Qpaws and in Strava / Garmin)
